The Competencies and Skills Required for Teacher Certification in Florida is a publication produced by the Florida Department of Education. It includes a comprehensive listing of the State’s requirements for demonstrating competency and knowledge in the areas of Professional Education, General Knowledge, and the subject areas. The twelfth edition contains the competencies and skills approved by the State Board of Education in Spring 2007.

Florida Teacher Certitication Excaminations (FTCE) Learning Portal

The Florida Deparment of Education announces their new Florida Teacher Certitication Excaminations (FTCE) Learning Portal, located at at https://app1.fldoe.org/ftce/Portal/ and also available on the FTCE Web page at http://www.fldoe.org/asp/ftce/. The FTCE Learning Portal consolidates resources for teacher preparation into one Web location to convey the variety of preparation options available.
